Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments are comprehensive evaluations performed by trained health professionals to determine if an individual meets the diagnostic criteria for one or both neurodevelopmental conditions.
This type of assessment is often combined because ASD and ADHD frequently co-occur and share overlapping symptoms, making it difficult to distinguish between the two without a thorough, multi-faceted process.
If a person is too young or has an existing diagnosis for one of the two, a singular assessment is then appropriate.
